You can see some of the original wood peeking out in the shelf and on the trim on the sides.
After sanding it down I decided to paint it a sage green with country maple trim to match the bed set my daughter has.
Here is the first side I have painted and getting ready for some stenciling.
You can barely see the trim right now but once I antique it, it will stand out again.
I chose this pattern because it matches one found in the bedding. I will show a picture of it on my next post and you will see what I mean.
I will be antiquing the entire nightstand with burnt umber glazes and I hope to finish the top with another type of stencil and some sea sponge techniques so stay tuned.

I love how you take an old nightstand most would pass up and turn it into a work of art! Can't wait to see it finished.
