"Discovery" Shuttle Launch

One thing about living on the Space Coast in Florida is that you always have the opportunity to see the shuttle launches, up close and personal. All we have to do is grab a pair of binoculars, walk out to the front yard and look up.
Last night at exactly 11:59 pm Ralph and I watched the Discovery Shuttle Launch up into the sky. This is a site that never gets old and is always awesome.

Above is Ralph with the binoculars as we see the first signs of the burst of light.
Below is what I captured on camera a few seconds into it's flight.

This final picture is much clearer, but without a telescopic lens it is difficult to tell what it is.
But this may be the last shuttle we see for some time and I am glad we were able to stay up and watch.

That would be amazing to actually see, and hear, that in person. Happy weekend ~Natalie
