Featured Artist Lynn Fraser

This is to introduce Lynn Fraser, a phenomenal painter who lives in Liverpool, England with her husband, Steve, of 20 years and her puppy border terrier named Dusty (after singer Dusty Springfield).
When I first saw Lynn's work I just had to do a blog about her as she is one talented lady.


TELL me about your art.


I have always been interested in drawing and painting but work life took over. I went to night school to reawaken my desire to draw. Since leaving work in a buying office fashion department a few years ago I was able to pursue my passion. I have sold work here and abroad and exhibited in galleries in the northwest of England as well as showcasing my work on other websites. I paint in acrylic on canvas and am trying to keep original art affordable.My artwork is eclectic varying from black and white icons to the Harajuku girls of Japan.




WHAT do you do for fun?


For fun, I like to walk the dog on the beach. I love to read , anything from chiclit, ghost stories and autobiographies and I love horror movies.



Who can resist Frank Sinatra? This wonderful likeness of Frank was done in a black and white popart style and truly a tribute to this legendary singer. This painting just has so much soul that it doesn't require any color.

The inspiration for this original acrylic painting of model Sam Mae came from a photograph taken by Insuh Yoon that can be seen on Flickr. Mr. Yoon was kind enough to grant Lynn permission to use this photo and I am awestruck by what she can do.

You must take a look at the original photograph to see how Lynn can transform this subject from one medium to another so flawlessly.

WHAT is your favorite painting and why?

My favourite painting is 'Lily in leopard skin hat' which is available as a fridge magnet in my etsy shop. The original is a 24x24ins painting and is in a show later this month.

WHAT was the most difficult piece to paint and why?

Probably 'Lily in a leopard skin hat' getting the impression of the fur on the hat to look right.


Suki and Soo is an original folkart style acrylic painting on canvas, a sort of progression from the realistic Harajuku girls Lynn paints. Along with her painting "Up up and away" she hopes to paint more in this series of cute and cheerful girls.
