Overweight kids?

What is it with the school physicians these days. My grandson is 7 years old and is a very tall, husky boy for his age. He weighs 70lbs and the docs are telling my daughter that they are very concerned about his weight and want him in for testing. What is wrong with this picture? He is not fat. He is possibly 5 lbs heavier than he should be for his age which shows up in his face a little, but my goodness, you would think we are dealing with a 200lb child here.
What really gets my goat, is that on one hand they are saying he needs to be guided by a nutritionist who can teach his mother how to feed him, but on the other hand his class at school has an average of 3 parties a month with all kinds of goodies like ice cream cupcakes, candies.
It is like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
Don't they have more important things to worry about?
